Asylum Seekers project

This is a feature documentary currently in preproduction, centering on the Community Asylum Seekers Project (CASP) based in Southern Vermont. This film will follow the three amazing women who run CASP (Kate, Dora and Cristi), as well as on the asylum seekers that CASP accompanies on their journeys towards citizenship. This is a unique and urgent moment to document because none of the 20 or so asylum seekers that CASP serves have yet, to date, either been granted nor denied asylum since CASP was formed in 2017: they are all essentially in a holding pattern, holding their breath, waiting for news while our immigration system remains stalled and backed up.
